New jobs at PayPal
Dublin People 04 Mar 2016
ONLINE payments giant PayPal has announced that 100 new jobs are to be filled at its Ballycoolin centre in Dublin 15 by the middle of next month.

Recruitment has already begun for the customer service and team leader positions and will continue until around the middle of April.
The 100 new roles are for English speakers, but PayPal say it also has a number of foreign language roles currently open to interested applicants.
The new positions offer options to work evening or night shifts and are open to candidates with varied work experience and qualifications.
The company says this latest jobs announcement reflects PayPal’s strong customer and revenue growth across the world and signals continued investment in Ireland as a key strategic hub for growth.
Louise Phelan, Vice President of Global Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa for PayPal said: “I am thrilled to announce PayPal’s further investment in Ireland and its talent base.
“This announcement is a strong endorsement of the quality of teammates we find here in Ireland.
“Right now, we are looking for customer service professionals with fluency in English. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting our customers and resolving their queries.
“Career opportunities at our diverse and multicultural offices in Ireland have never been better. We are particularly proud of the fact that many of the roles we create are suitable for unemployed people who we recruit from the live register.
“Our new teammates will join colleagues representing 40 nations and will be eligible for fantastic career, personal development and training opportunities.
“Our PayPal teammates are changing the way people pay and get paid. They are working at the cutting edge and innovating constantly.”
Commenting on the announcement, CEO of IDA Ireland, Martin Shanahan, described PayPal’s operation in Ireland as a real success story.
“With the support of IDA Ireland, the company set up with just 25 people in 2003 in Ballycoolin, Dublin,” he said.
“PayPal is now bi-located in Dublin and Dundalk and employs 2,400. PayPal’s continued job creation and investment in Ireland is yet another endorsement from one of the world’s leading online companies, and builds on Ireland’s reputation as the internet capital of Europe. IDA Ireland is determined to win more investment in this sector.”
Last week’s news was welcomed by outgoing Jobs Minister, Richard Bruton.
“This is a very welcome announcement by PayPal and follows on from a series of hugely significant announcements for West Dublin and Dundalk,” he said.
“Every job created in a multinational company like PayPal supports huge knock-on employment in the local area through supply and service companies. I wish Louise and all the team every success with this project.”
