Aaron Murphy of Tesco, Dorset Street, picks up his award from Ken Collins and Andrew Yaxley of Tesco

LOCAL Tesco employee, Aaron Murphy, was one of the winners honored at this year’s Tesco Values Awards.

Aaron, who works at Tesco on Dorset Street, took home the coveted trophy for ‘Service Superstar’ at the recent awards ceremony, which took place in the Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge, Co Dublin.

Aaron is known for his exceptional customer service in the Dorset Street store, taking the time to get to know his customers, including one particular shopper with Alzheimer’s.

Finding out his name and what he usually buys from Tesco, Aaron always ensures this particular customer gets a special welcome and his needs met by each of the store colleagues.

“He has also shown great empathy helping one customer with bad eyesight each time he comes into the store,” a Tesco spokesperson said.

“Aaron will take it upon himself to pick up his shopping for him, proving himself a true service superstar and setting a great example of how every little really does help.”

RTE’s Brian Ormond was on hand to MC the awards ceremony and present the awards to the winners for their notable contributions to communities across Ireland. Over 250 Tesco employees were in attendance to celebrate their success.
