Lord Mayor of Dublin visits Scoil Eoin

Pupils and staff at Scoil Eoin in Kilbarrack gave Lord Mayor of Dublin Daryl Barron an enthusiastic welcome when he visited the school on Friday, September 25.

The visit included a lively question-and-answer session at a whole-school assembly, where pupils also showcased their Dublin-themed artwork and performed a song.

Describing the visit as a special morning for the school, Áine Mc Cormack, HSCL co-ordinator, told Northside People:

“We welcomed the 359th Lord Mayor, Daryl Barron to our whole school assembly where he was interviewed about his theme for the year-Our Dublin.

“Five curious pupils questioned Daryl about all things Dublin and even found out his favourite take away!!

“He shared why he is so passionate about our capital city and particularly our neighbourhood, which is his neighbourhood – Kilbarrack .

“Daryl appreciated all the wonderful Dublin themed art that was displayed on the walls of our halla.

“The children sang, ‘Our Community’, complete with actions and it was a very special morning for all involved.”
