St Joseph’s Primary Fairview has unveiled its newly transformed playground and outdoor space, providing pupils with a bright, exciting and welcoming area where they can play, explore and enjoy their break times.

The project began with the simple idea of making some improvements to the existing yard.

However, as plans developed, it became clear that there was an opportunity to completely transform the space and create something truly special for the children.

What started as a modest project soon gathered momentum.

Past pupils, families and members of the wider community generously donated towards the project, allowing the school to go beyond its original plans and completely redevelop the yard.

The finished playground has created a fantastic new environment for pupils, giving them opportunities to be active, socialise and use their imagination while enjoying outdoor play.

St Joseph’s Primary Fairview Principal, Mr Tiarnan Crowe, said: “We want to sincerely thank all those who donated towards the project.

“We received donations from past pupils, the IFSC trust and Salesforce themselves to create this incredible new space.

“Without their generosity and support, the transformation would not have been possible.

“We have done so much work on transforming the inside of the school over the last number of years and the yard was the next thing we wanted to focus on.

“We’ve been raising the money for quite some time and then we thankfully got to link up with Denis in Difference Days who organised this incredible Volunteer Day with Salesforce.

“It was great to turn our small idea into something incredible. “It’s been three weeks now and the boys are just over the moon and thoroughly enjoying the new space which caters for all children.”
