Major rail disruption to Northside DART, Northern Commuter, Enterprise
Padraig Conlon 24 Jun 2026
Iarnród Éireann says it is advising customers of major disruption to rail services, due to overhead line damage in the Raheny to Harmonstown area.
The following services will be affected for the entirety of the morning peak and possibly up to lunchtime:
- No DART services between Malahide/Howth and Clontarf Road
- No Northern Commuter services between Howth Junction and Dublin Connolly, with delays and limited service between Dundalk/Drogheda and Howth Junction
- Belfast Enterprise services will involve bus transfers between Dublin Connolly and Drogheda
For DART and Northern Commuter customers affected, Leapcard can be used on other TFI operators services, subject to available capacity.
A spokesperson for Iarnród Éireann said:
“The original damage occured before 20:30hrs last night.
“While there was disruption yesterday evening as a result, with only one track available, Iarnród Éireann deferred repair works due to the concert at Malahide Castle, with 20,000 people attending, to ensure customers could travel home from that event.
“Crews mobilised after 01:00hrs and repair works are ongoing.
“The cause of the damage is also being determined.
“Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused.”
