Councillor launches public survey on Marino bus service

Fune Gael councillor Clodagh Ní Mhuirí has launched an online survey on the 73 bus route serving Marino.

The survey aims to gather feedback from residents on how their use of the bus has changed since the new 73 route replaced the 123 service last year.

“Since the 73 route came into effect, I’ve spoken to many people in the Marino area who relied on the 123 and have shared a range of issues they’ve experienced with the new service,” said Councillor Ní Mhuirí.

“As someone who mostly relies on public transport – including the 73 – to get around the city, I know how important it is to have a local service that can be relied on and that brings people where they need to go.”

“I’ve been continuously engaging with the National Transport Authority and GoAhead on this since last October and with this survey, I hope to hear from as many people as possible about their experience of the new route,” Cllr Ní Mhuirí explained. “I’ll be sharing the results with the NTA to show how the changes have impacted residents in Marino and the surrounding areas.”

“If you use this service – or used to use the 123 bus – and can spare a minute to complete the survey, this will help me to keep advocating for improvements to the service.”

The survey takes only 1-2 minutes to complete and asks residents whether they now use the 73 more or less than they used the 123, and if so, what factors have most influenced that change.

The survey is available at bit.ly/73bussurvey and will close towards the end of June.
