Padraig Conlon 01 Oct 2025
A new parkrun event has been officially launched at Broadmeadow Linear Park in Swords, in collaboration with proud presenting partner Vhi.
The inaugural event took place on 27th September marking a significant addition to the growing network of free, weekly timed 5k events across Ireland.
Broadmeadow Linear parkrun will take place every Saturday morning at 9:30, offering a welcoming, inclusive environment for people of all ages and fitness levels to walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate.
The event is designed to promote physical activity, community engagement, and wellbeing in a safe and supportive setting.
As with all parkruns, participation is completely free of charge, but pre-registration is required.
Participants should register in advance at www.parkrun.ie and bring a scannable barcode on the day to receive an official time.
The success of the event depends entirely on the dedication of local volunteers.
Those interested in supporting the event can contact the organising team at broadmeadowlinear@parkrun.com to get involved.
Broadmeadow Linear parkrun is the latest initiative supported by parkrun Ireland in partnership with Vhi, as part of their ongoing commitment to encouraging active lifestyles and building healthier communities across the country.
