Community defibrillator installations in Balbriggan
Padraig Conlon 28 Feb 2025
Balbriggan Chain of Survival have installed an external defibrillator cabinet at the Balbriggan Courthouse – this is their first ‘unlocked’ installation and does not require an access code.
The National Ambulance Service recommend unlocked cabinets after extensive research and Balbriggan Chain of Survival say they will procure unlocked cabinets going forward.
They will place a ZOLL 3 Defibrillator at the Courthouse.
In a statement, Balbriggan Chain of Survival said:
“Reported miss-use or vandalism is uncommon and we’re working with our partners, at 123Print, to label the devices and cabinets with contact details and our guardianship.
“As this is a crucial asset for our community, with the intention to save lives in emergency situations, we’re seeking to foster positive co-operation for its safeguarding.
“An informed community is a safer community. Balbriggan Courthouse Eircode: K32 AE37.
“We will be doing routine maintenance checks on all our defibrillator installations.
“We’d appreciate the public support in our messaging and report any misuse, damage, or issues immediately.”
