The news that Michael Stone has stepped down as Chair of the NEIC implementation board is ‘a serious blow to the on-going regeneration of the North Inner City as envisaged by the NEIC implementation board’, chaired by Michael, according to North Inner City Councillor Nial Ring.

“Since his appointment as Chair in June 2017, Michael has guided the NEIC implementation board brilliantly and there has been positive and  real change in the Inner City as a result of this. Michael just got things done!” Nial Ring said today.

“Michael and his team have done  a great job in ensuring that the far-reaching and ambitious  objectives of the Mulvey Report are being implemented, with some great success stories and real traction being achieved” he added.

“Michael’s years of voluntary commitment to the NEIC initiative through his chairmanship, as well as using  his vast business skills and connections for the good of the area, is hugely appreciated  by the many groups and organisations who have benefited from the millions of Euro put into the area via the NEIC” he further added.

“What a pity that his involvement in the minor issue of putting up posters for Paschal has led to this, proving once again that no good turn goes unpunished!” he concluded
