Malahide Library has received funding of €117,900 to help expand the opening times and services of the local amenity.

The funding is part of the My Open Library service which aims to improve optimum staffed services at libraries around the country.

Local Senator Lorraine Clifford Lee says the funding will greatly benefit those who visit the library.

“I’m delighted to see this very significant funding for the library in Malahide which will roll out the My Open Library initiative in our local library.

“This initiative will allow members to access Malahide Library outside of normal opening hours in a self-service capacity between the hours of 8 am and 10 pm seven days per week,” she said.

“Malahide Library provides a key service to our local community and it’s important people are given greater access to library services so that it fits around their school and work day.

“Fianna Fa?il is committed to supporting valuable community services such as local libraries and I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure better services across Fingal for local people.”
