Gold Postbox for Ellen Keane!

Ellen Keane is the latest Northside sports hero to have get a gold postbox in her honour.

An Post has announced that the Irish Paralympic swimmer is being honoured in her native Clontarf following her gold medal victory in Tokyo yesterday.

The post box, which is opposite Wood Bridge, has been transformed from green to gold in honour of Ellen and her local community.

An Post celebrated Kellie Harrington in recent weeks with a gold post box in Summerhill in Dublin 1 following her success at the Olympics.

The picture shows Jessica Murnane, employee from local business Kanoodle, with the special Gold Post Box.

In a statement, An Post said:

“Some world beating reasons for posting around Clontarf and Dublin 3 in the coming months now that An Post has gone for Gold in honour of Paralympian and swimming Gold medal winner Ellen Keane.

“The post box, opposite the iconic Wood Bridge, has been transformed from its equally iconic An Post green to Gold in honour of Ellen and her local community. “
