Gardaí renew their appeal for witnesses after IFSC attack

Store Street Gardai are renewing their appeal for witnesses in relation to the fatal assault of a woman that took place on Wednesday, January 20 at Custom House Quay.

A Garda statement said: “At 9.30pm, a woman, aged in her 40s, was walking on the pedestrian walkway between George’s Dock and Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1 when she was assaulted.

“During the course of the incident, the woman received serious injuries. She was taken to The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where she died on 3rd February 2021.”

Gardaí are again appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

Gardaí are particularly appealing to the driver of a silver Toyota Prius Taxi which was driving from George’s Dock towards Harbourmaster Place shortly before the incident to come forward.

They are also asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Custom House Quay, George’s Dock, Harbourmaster Place, Connolly Train Station, Amiens Street and Buckingham Street Lower on the evening of Wednesday, 20th January 2021 between 9.15pm and 10pm to contact them.

Gardaí are asking any road users including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians who were in the area at this time and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) to make this available.
