Fingal closes 10 libraries and 15 community centres

All 10 libraries in Fingal and the mobile library service, as well as 15 community centres owned by Fingal County Council, have now closed until March 29 in line with Government requirements to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The libraries affected are Balbriggan, Baldoyle, Blanchardstown, Donabate, Garristown, Howth, Malahide, Rush, Skerries and Swords, plus the four mobile libraries.

The community centres affected are Baldoyle Forum, Blakestown Community & Resource Centre, Corduff Resource Centre, Corduff Sports Centre, Donabate Portrane Community Centre, Fortlawn Community Centre, Fingal Liam Rodgers Centre, Mountview Family Resource Centre, Mountview Youth & Community Centre, Mourne Estate Community Facility, Mulhuddart Community Centre, Parslickstown House, Rush Multi-Purpose Facility, St Macullins Community Centre and The Cottage, Lusk.
Fingal County Council’s community team are contacting the boards of other community facilities within the county to advise them of the decision to close and will be recommending they do likewise.
Fingal County Council’s public offices in Swords and Blanchardstown will remain open as normal but members of the public wishing to conduct business with the council are encouraged to do so by phone, email or post rather than going to the public offices.

For those who wish to drop in letters, forms or additional information for applications, a postbox will be located immediately inside the main entrance of the council offices in Swords and Blanchardstown in order to avoid unnecessary queuing.
Access to the Dog Pound in Ashtown will be limited from today and it is advised that the public should make contact them in advance of any visit.
