Cigarettes seized in Drumcondra

REVENUE officers seized a total of 87,000 cigarettes following the search of a vehicle in Drumcondra last week.

The search was carried out as part of a routine operation. The ‘Marlboro’ cigarettes bore Moldovan tax stamps and have a value of over €46,500, representing a loss to the Exchequer of approximately €40,500.

Investigations are ongoing. This seizure was part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation, supply and sale of illegal tobacco products in the shadow economy.
