Christy Moore to attend Stardust vigil for 39th anniversary

Dublin People 20 Jan 2020

Singer Christy Moore will attend a vigil to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the Stardust nightclub tragedy on Thursday, February 13.

Moore has been a longstanding supporter of the Stardust families and famously ended up in court over his controversial tribute song, ‘They Never Came Home’, when it was first released in 1985.

Other well-known names expected to turn up at next month’s vigil include actor John Connors, former RTÉ correspondent Charlie Bird and journalist Eamon Dunphy.

Dublin City Council has agreed to provide a marquee outside the former Stardust venue at Butterly Business Park on the Kilmore Road in Artane.

Antoinette Keegan, spokesperson for the Stardust Victims’ Committee, said they were looking for volunteers to help out on the night, which will start at 6.30pm. If you are available, you can get in touch via the Justice for the Stardust 48 Facebook page.
