Hill Street News: Locals set for festival

MEMBERS of a Northside community are set to host a Chinese New Year Festival this weekend to ring in the Year of the Rat and members of the public are invited to attend.

The Hill Street Family Resource Centre is hosting the event which will take place from 2pm to 7pm this Saturday, January 25 at Hill Street, Dublin 1, and admission is free.
The family resource centre, in collaboration with the North East Inner City initiative, will showcase live performances from local Chinese talent, as well as traditional interactive Chinese workshops.
Everyone is invited to share the experience as Hill Street is transformed into a Chinese wonderland.
The event will host a wide range of entertainment on the afternoon, from food and drama to Tai Chi, Origami and Calligraphy. Open to all, there are delights promised for everyone as a variety of workshops and traditional Chinese performers, including children from the Hill Street Family Resource Centre, perform traditional Chinese dances, and take over this central Dublin venue!
All are welcome to take part in this important festive and cultural celebration.
It will also provide an excellent opportunity to celebrate inclusion and diversity.
So whether you’re a fan of art, culture, food, or history, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy at the Chinese New Year Community Festival in Hill Street this weekend.
