Susan celebrates top nursing home award

A NORTHSIDE nursing home is celebrating after a member of its staff claimed a top honour at the Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards.
Susan Lee of Hamilton Park Care Facility, Balbriggan, was the winner of the Nursing Home Registered Nurse of the Year Award.
Susan claimed her honour before 400 plus representatives from the nursing home, older person care and health sectors across Ireland at the awards ceremony in the Citywest Hotel,
North Dublin was also proudly represented by Lovella Valenzuela, also of Hamilton Park Care Facility (Director of Nursing/Person in Charge Award finalist), and Ciara Smyth & Activities Team of CareChoice Malahide (Social & Recreational Programme Award finalist).
The awards were held in association with Homecare Medical Supplies.
Tadhg Daly, Nursing Homes Ireland chief executive, congratulated Susan on her fantastic achievement.
“The award is established to celebrate excellence in nursing practice in residential and long-term care in nursing homes,” said Mr Daly.
“Our finalists were required to demonstrate how their work contributes to care excellence and how the work has a demonstrable benefit in achieving a culture of person-centeredness in the nursing home.
“Once again the standard of entry to the awards was exceptional, with entries received from nursing home candidates across Ireland.
“Congratulations to Susan for her superb accomplishment of winning the prestigious honour. The residents and staff of Hamilton Park Care Facility and the wider Balbriggan community should be immensely proud of Susan’s accomplishment.”
Congratulations were also extended to Lovella, also of Hamilton Park Care Facility, and Ciara and the activities team of CareChoice Malahide.
