New book charts the history of local estates

A NEW book has been launched charting the history of two Northside estates.
In the late 1960s approximately 1,000 people came out to Raheny to live in Grange and Woodbine. These new residents helped to build a thriving community that worked together and are still involved in social, sporting and artistic life.
Frank Ahern, author of ‘The Grange Woodbine Residents’ Association – a Fifty-Year History’, says: “Fifty years ago it was all about the kids and as we grew older the focus moved to the adults and the various activities that can be enjoyed by the residents. “We are celebrating the past 50 years with this book that charts the story." The book costs €10 and is available at Grange Woodbine Community Centre, Raheny.
