A NORTHSIDE GAA Club is  making a positive impression in the local community after it established an initiative that aims to ensure that children with additonal needs aren’t left out of its activities .

Scoil Uí Chonaill GAA Club, nestled beside the sea at Clontarf, recently established a new team called Scoil Stars.

Scoil Stars is a sports inclusion programme that supports children with additional needs who want to have fun while partaking in hurling and football activities.

As part of the programme, the children, supported by a team of coaches, are given the opportunity to get active in the safe grounds of Scoil Uí Chonaill GAA Club which is located at 95 Clontarf Road (opposite The Baths Restaurant).

The objective of the initiative is for the children to learn new GAA skills, have fun, make friends and get active in a friendly non-competitive environment.

The event organisers include Jackie Geraghty, Sean Leahy, Darren Benham, Ronan Murphy and Aifric Ni Neachtain.

The new term for Scoil Stars commenced last Saturday morning and those involved in the initiative are looking forward to an exciting time ahead.

If you would like more information please contact Jackie Geraghty on 087-2672038, Erika Casey on 087-4125661 or Tara Galvin on 087-2805431.

Scoil Ui Chonaill GAA Club has strong ties with O’Connell’s School and children who play GAA in the club come from the North East inner city schools, Scoil Neasain, Artane and surrounding areas. It is a family oriented club with a large focus on nurturing underage players.
