Tubridy brings smiles to patients 

RYAN Tubridy made a trip to CHI Crumlin last week to help bring joy to some of the hospital’s young patients.

CMRF Crumlin provides funding for CHI at Crumlin (formerly Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin) and the National Children’s Research Centre (NCRC) which invests in vital research into childhood illnesses like cancer, cardiac diseases, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and eczema to name a few. 

The RTE broadcaster, a CMRF ambassador, said: "It's always humbling to walk through the corridors of Crumlin Hospital, meeting children and their families who have a lot going on in their world but always handling the situation with dignity and determination.

“The same can be said for the staff who, at every level, endeavour to make the world a kinder place for boys and girls from all over Ireland.” 

Tubridy added: “The CMRF Foundation could always do with a little help along the way and I hope people can do that by donating whatever they can.”

Fiona O'Malley, Head of Communications at CMRF, said it was wonderful to have Ryan visit sick children at the hospital.

“He is always so generous with his time and it is wonderful to see all the children’s faces light up when they see him,” said Ms O’Malley.  

“Being in hospital is tough for children at any time of year, but during the summer it can be especially unfair.  

“We are hugely grateful to Ryan for giving his time, and to our many supporters who make donations and raise funds so that sick children can have smiles all year round.”
