DUBLIN Bay North TD Denise Mitchell has been appointed Sinn Féin’s Spokesperson for Dublin and Junior Housing

Following a reshuffle of the Sinn Féin Oireachtas team by Party President Mary Lou McDonald TD, Deputy Mitchell said she is very much looking forward to the new role.
“Communities across Dublin are facing very unique challenges while there is major work to be done in the areas of housing, transport, policing, and the environment,” she said.
“We in Sinn Féin have solutions and a vision for this city and I want to champion them.
“Working with my colleague Eoin Ó Broin TD, we will continue to outline how the provision of social and affordable housing, real rent certainty and affordable cost rental can alleviate the housing crisis.
“If we do not get to grips with this issue, we will have an entire generation of Dubliners who are not only locked-out of being a homeowner, they will be locked-out of their own city.”
Deputy Mitchell said she wants to ensure that community organisations, youth groups and sports clubs have the support from Government and councils to continue and expand the great work they do at grassroots level.
“We in Sinn Féin also want a city where everybody feels safe,” she added.
“Dublin’s population is growing quickly and that presents challenges. We need more frontline gardaí, and particularly community gardaí, to work on the ground.”
