Locals get crafty 

A NORTHSIDE group was given an opportunity to showcase some of its work at a recent event held in Ballybough Community Centre.

The Ballybough Craft Group members displayed craftworks they created with artist facilitator Jane Groves. The project grew from their work on the Willow Zen Garden, which they created in Fairview Park in spring 2018. 

The current craft project, which involves ceramics, felting and printing, takes its inspiration from their memories of Fairview, spring flowers and a visit to the Chester Beatty Library and they developed their ideas textures and patterns further. 

The project, part of the National Neighbourhood, has been made in collaboration with Jane Groves and in partnership with Dublin City Library and Archive, North Central Area Office, the City Arts Office, The Chester Beatty and The National Archives.

The National Neighbourhood is a Dublin City Council Culture Company programme that builds cultural projects in community settings. 

By connecting artists, groups and villages with libraries, museums and creative places, together they are creating, connecting and exploring across Dublin city.
