Rotunda IVF to hold informal fertility information evening

Rotunda IVF will hold an informal information evening next week to look at modern fertility issues.

Fertility in the City will take place in the Dean Hotel on Harcourt Street on Thursday, May 2, from 6.30pm. The event will see Ireland's top fertility specialists address a range of issues, including the options available for same sex couples and single women.

The details on donor sperm, assessing fertility, causes of infertility and all the supports, advice and state-of-the-art treatments will be explained by the Rotunda IVF fertility experts.

Dr Renato Bauman of Rotunda IVF said that modern fertility treatments, such as the new sperm donation programme, means that conceiving a child is now perfectly viable for many couples and individuals who, up until recently, would not have had the same options.

“We are seeing more single women choosing to have a child using donor sperm,” he explained. “Women wishing to extend their fertility are freezing their eggs and same sex couples have support in planning their options around having a baby.”

As infertility affects one in five people in Ireland, it is important for everyone to be informed about their fertility from a young age.
Rotunda IVF was founded in 1989 as one of the first assisted reproduction clinics in the Republic of Ireland. It is still the sole provider of fertility services on the east coast, from Dublin city centre to Belfast.

Up to 80 tickets are available for the information evening free-of-charge, but must be booked in advance on www.rotundaivf.ie
