DUBLIN Airport is set to host its biggest ever-festive entertainment programme this Christmas season.

More than 1,600 performers from 40 schools, choirs and musical groups will entertain passengers with performances in each terminal daily up to Christmas Eve.

Speaking at the announcement of the programme, Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said: “Dublin Airport is the first welcome for thousands of passengers travelling home from all over the world for Christmas and for those visiting from overseas, so we want to make it very special.

“We have been arranging our Christmas entertainment calendar since September and we are delighted to present our biggest musical schedule ever.

“The outpouring of joy and happiness in the Arrivals Halls in both terminals makes Dublin Airport a truly special place at Christmas.”

RTÉ 2FM’s Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene will broadcast their show live from Terminal 2 Arrivals this Friday, December 21 from 10am to 1pm.

The programme will come to a close on Christmas Eve with the Dublin Gospel Choir performing live in Terminal 2.

“Many of our performers are from schools in our local communities including St Margaret’s National School, Portmarnock Community College and Scoil an Duinnínigh, Swords, and they provide a really special welcome for passengers,” said Mr Harrison.

“We also have adult choirs such as The Forget-Me-Nots, a choir that unites older people and those affected by dementia, the Airport Fire Service Band and Rush Musical Society.

“We would like to thank all our performers for helping to make Christmas homecomings special at Dublin Airport.”
