FIANNA Fáil representatives have attended a meeting with the Lord Mayor of Dublin to discuss the party’s bill on regenerating the north inner city.

Fianna Fail’s spokesperson on Dublin, John Lahart TD, and Dublin Central General Election candidate, Mary Fitzpatrick, met with the mayor, Nial Ring.

The North Inner-City Development Authority Bill 2018, which was introduced in Dáil Éireann by John Lahart TD last month, will  put the regeneration of the area on a statutory footing.

Speaking following the meeting, Deputy Lahart said: “Our bill recognises the importance of properly regenerating the north inner city not just for the area itself and those living there but also for the country as a whole given it’s in the heart of our capital.

“Our meeting was a worthwhile opportunity to exchange our thoughts regarding the bill itself and to seek the Lord Mayor’s full support for it to be passed but also to relay some of the serious concerns of those living in the area.” Mary Fitzpatrick said she was pleased that the Lord Mayor shared a real and meaningful vision for the future of the north inner city and fully understood the great potential of the area.”
