Fingal County Council has lifted the temporary ‘Do Not Swim’ notice which was erected at Claremont Beach in Howth on Tuesday due to suspected impacts from animals/birds and contamination of urban surface waters discharging into the bathing water.

Further testing took place on July 10 and the results of laboratory analysis were found to be excellent.

Members of the public intending to enter the water at any beach in Ireland are advised to check the water quality in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the noticeboard at the entrance to each beach.
