The dome of Northside soccer opens in Santry
Dublin People 01 Jun 2018
A NEW state-of-the-art indoor soccer facility has opened in Santry.

Dublin Indoor Football is the company behind a purpose-built dome with five indoor soccer pitches.
The dome, measuring 100m by 50m, is located within the grounds of the Sportslink Complex and is the largest of its kind in the country.
The Soccer Dome houses five state-of-the-art pitches, including two five-a-side, two six-a-side pitches and Ireland’s largest indoor football pitch, suitable for adult nine-a-side play.
Utilising the very latest form of synthetic turf technology, each pitch has been designed with a playing surface that simulates the response of natural grass, with no infill, no sand and no rubber, for clean safe play and a great player experience. Shock absorbers also help to protect against injuries normally associated with outdoor pitches and, most importantly, with a roof over the players’ heads, it’s perfect for the Irish weather.
Speaking at the launch of the Soccer Dome, director of Dublin Indoor Football, Patricia O’Connor, said: “We are delighted to expand our facilities within the Soccer Dome to five indoor pitches and offer football players a new and unique alternative to outdoor play. Our Soccer Dome provides an ideal venue to hold training and football playoffs all year round, regardless of Ireland’s unpredictable weather. It is also a timely launch to coincide with the addition of sports to the secondary school curriculum.”
Pitch hires are available for either one-off games or regular weekly matches. The venue is also available for school tours, corporate events, summer camps and children’s parties.
The Soccer Dome is open seven days a week, from 10am to 10pm. For bookings and further information, call 01-8424244 or visit www.dublinindoorfootball.ie
