Students have fun at big sports day in Artane 

THE Annual Sports Day at St David's CBS, Artane, was held on Tuesday May 8 under blue skies and the sun shone thankfully.  

The competitive spirit was alive and well in the morning with students from each year group vying for the title in events including pitch and putt, long jump, shot putt, high jump and sprints.  

After a break to refuel with a barbecue and icecream, it was on to the afternoon events. 

These had a more fun element to them, a Gladiator-style joust proving the most popular with the students.  

The students also got the chance to test their skills in the penalty shootout and their strength in the tug of war. Rounding up the afternoon events were the obstacle course and sack
