Treat served up for older persons 

A NON-FOR-PROFIT organisation that provides Meals on Wheels and home help services on the Northside launched its sixth community kitchen last week.

Northside Homecare Service is providing the new service at Millwood Court in Edenmore, a residential complex for older members of the community. The aim is to provide nourishing three-course meals from Monday to Friday for the residents at a minimal cost. It is hoped that the new service will improve the social interaction of the residents.

Adeline Brien, Meals on Wheels manager at Northside Homecare Services, said: “We also have five other kitchens providing hot nutritious meals for the elderly  It was a great turnout (at Millwood) and a chance for us to show the service that we are providing in the community.”

Northside Homecare Service would like to thank Dublin City Council for its support in the venture.
