Bull Wall ladies’ bathing shelter to be upgraded  

DUBLIN City Council has agreed to carry out upgrade works at the ladies’ bathing shelter at the Bull Wall, Clontarf. 

The move comes after a meeting between bathers and the city council’s parks department, following the upgrade of the men’s shelter. 

Green Party local representative in Clontarf, Donna Cooney, who requested the meeting with the city council, said she was delighted with the outcome.

“I am very pleased that Dublin City Council has agreed to carry out improvements to the Bull Wall ladies’ bathing shelter,” Ms Cooney told Northside People.  

“I want to thank Les Moore, Parks Superintendant, and also Brid and Angus, from Dublin City Parks for agreeing to meet to discuss improvements to our ladies’ bathing shelter.

“There was some concern following the men’s shelter upgrade, that the women’s shelter would be left as it is but we’re delighted with the commitment we received from the council. 

“We’re looking forward to the works being carried out, so enjoying Dublin Bay is even more comfortable for our bathers.” The improvements agreed are:

• New handrail 

• Works to the concrete steps to address erosion 

• New matting to provide better grip on steps 

• New coat hooks 

• New cycle racks 

• New tap
