Boost for Balbriggan businesses as shop front scheme extended

A SCHEME to enhance shop fronts in the north county Dublin town of Balbriggan is to be extended. 

The Balbriggan Town Shop Front Enhancement Grant Scheme, which has brought great improvements locally in 2016, will now incorporate Chapel Street, Railway Street, Clonard Street, Mill Street, Quay Street and High Street, as well as the previous areas of Drogheda Street, Bridge Street, George’s Square and Dublin Street. 

The scheme will provide financial assistance to business owners to improve shop fronts and commercial properties on the five identified streets in Balbriggan.  

Grant funding of up to 75 per cent of eligible costs is available to replace and renovate shop fronts or to paint shop fronts in the town centre. 

Following requests from the Chamber of Commerce in Balbriggan and individual business owners, it is now being extended. 

Fingal County Council, along with Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce, wishes to build on the success of the scheme on Main Street. 

Business owners who are interested should send in their completed forms by email to shopfrontscheme@fingal.ie or to Fearghal McSweeney, Economic Enterprise & Tourism Development Dept, County Hall, Swords, County Dublin, on or before 4pm on Monday, September 4. The work must be completed by Friday, September 29.
