FOUR Dublin teams will be taking part in this year’s Volkswagen Junior Masters when the tournament kicks off this Saturday, August 12, at the AUL Complex at Dublin Airport.

The Volkswagen Group announced that Ballymun Utd, Belvedere FC, Bohemian FC and Crumlin Utd would be competing in one of the most prestigious underage soccer tournaments in Ireland, along with 12 other teams from around the country.

Now in its fourth year, the tournament has grown significantly in terms of its recognition and importance amongst the Irish grassroots soccer community.

The stakes are high with the winning team to benefit from a

?¬2,500 grant for their club, while all competing teams will receive an Umbro team kit for the competition.

There are 16 teams participating in this year’s 11-a-side tournament. The group stages, in which there are four groups of four teams, will be played on Saturday, August 12, with the semi-finals and finals taking place on Sunday, August 13. The Grand Final will take place at 2.45pm on August 13.

Niamh Gaffney, communications manager, Volkswagen Group Ireland, said:

“We are delighted to be involved in what is our fourth year with one of Irelands most prestigious underage soccer tournaments, the Volkswagen Junior Masters.

“The tournament provides us with a fantastic opportunity to support soccer communities throughout the country, as represented by the wide range of local Volkswagen dealerships displayed on team kits.

“We are proud to support the development of soccer players of the future and their future careers.
