Praise for work in local park
Dublin People 19 Jul 2017
A NORTHSIDE councillor has praised Fingal County Council for its work in a local park.Â

Cllr Philip Lynam (SF) said:
“I want to thank Fingal County Council for continuing their commitment for the upgrading of Brackenstown Park in Swords.Â
“This park is home to Swords Manor Football Club who play a great role in the local community with football for young kids right up to the senior teams.Â
“Fingal council completed the extended pathway earlier this month aroundÂ
Swords Manor’s football pitches. I put in a request to have these completed at May’s Local Area council meeting.Â
“This is a great addition to the park and will attract more and more families to utilise the pathway to walk or cycle.
?
Trees were cut back earlier in the year in the park and new lighting was installed in the area.
“The next stage will be to focus on a multi-use all-weather type pitch in conjunction with a long-awaited community and sports centre for Brackenstown which had been promised many years ago,
? said Cllr Lynam.Â
“I have been working behind the scenes with the football club and other stakeholders to start the process.
“To date we have had a number of meetings with the executive in Fingal County Council to start a public consultation to set out a masterplan for the park and the valley now that it has been fully taken in charge.
