WORK on Lusk Community College is on track to finally start this summer, according to Dublin Fingal TD Alan Farrell (FG).
“Many parents, teachers, and members of the local community in Lusk have understandably been frustrated over the delays which have hindered the completion of the school building project in the past,” said Deputy Farrell.
“Following the approval for phase 2 of the development of Lusk Community College last October, we were informed that the process would take between three and six months to complete. “Now, I have been informed by the Department of Education and Skills that the Design Team for the project are currently finalising the shortlist of contractors who will be invited to tender for the project.
“Notwithstanding the delays in the past, I am pleased that we are finally making progress on delivering phase 2 of Lusk Community College. “With the contractors who will be invited to tender now being shortlisted, and should no further issues arise, construction on phase 2 of Lusk Community College is on track to begin this coming summer.”
Deputy Farrell said that overall, the development of phase 2 should be completed within 18 months. “I will continue to engage with the Minister for Skills, Richard Bruton, and his department, in order to avoid any further delays in the completion this project,” he added.
