Services planned for primary care centre welcomed

DUBLIN Bay North TD Tommy Broughan (Ind) has welcomed the services that are planned for the new primary care in Coolock/Darndale.

The HSE, in a report, said the services that will be provided from the new centre, which will be built on the site of the former health centre in Coolock, include: 

• Public Health Nursing, 

• Physiotherapy, 

• Occupational therapy, 

• Speech and Language Therapy, 

• Primary Care Social Work, 

• GP Services,

• Community Mental Health Team 

• Day Hospital Services, 

• Child Dental Services, and 

• Children’s Primary Care Services

According to the report, the antenatal outreach services that are currently provided by the Rotunda Hospital in the existing Coolock Health Centre on a weekly basis, will continue in the new primary care centre.  

Deputy Broughan said: “I welcome this reply from the HSE which lists a comprehensive offering of services for our long-awaited primary care centre in Coolock.  

“This centre is one of the 14 new primary care centres being built around the country after the €70 million loan from the European Investment Bank.  

“I look forward to the completion of the primary care centre and to it being a useful and essential service to all our people in greater Coolock.”
