Students create mural
Dublin People 10 Jun 2016
KILBARRACK Shopping Centre received a creative makeover recently thanks to the imagination and artistic skills of some local Transition Year students.

The centre held a competition among local secondary schools where they asked students to design a mural with the theme ‘community’.
The winning school, St Paul’s College, Raheny, was given the opportunity to paint their design on the back wall of the centre, adding character, colour and showing off Kilbarrack’s well-known sense of community.
Students from the college created a design entitled ‘Our Community’, which represents everything that they have grown to love about Kilbarrack. The students had the chance to display their creativity and did a fantastic job in painting the mural within a week.
“We enjoyed our time in Kilbarrack Shopping Centre and are thankful for the support of the local people,” they said.
“It was a great experience to be involved in the competition and to have the opportunity to complete this mural during Transition Year.
“We hope that everyone enjoys the mural as much as we did creating it.”
Kilbarrack Shopping Centre and its managing agents, HWBC, would like to thank all the students and faculty involved in the creation of such a fun and colourful mural.
An extended thanks was also expressed to Grange Builders Providers, Baldoyle, for supplying an array of colourful paints and supplies.
