Na Dubh Ghall teaching children the art of GAA
Dublin People 22 Apr 2016
NA Dubh Ghall has been teaching the children of Baldoyle and surrounding areas GAA since 2001. The children are taught in a fun friendly manner in which they build confidence and friendships.
The club is heavily active in the community. Apart from club work they teach GAA in St Lawrence’s National School and St Mary’s Secondary School. The club also takes pride in putting on events that bring the whole community together such as its annual family fun day, kids’ discos and ceili nights. They cater for all the family. The nursery (4-7 years) runs on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11am at the Racecourse Park. It is pay as you go, €2 a week.
They run an after-schools program for Junior and Senior infants in St Lawrence’s Junior School on Tuesdays from 1.40pm-2.30pm. Pay as you go weekly, €2.
Na Dubh Ghall is currently seeking players for their Under 9s and their Under 8s teams. They are also seeking girls to play on the Under 13 Girls’ team. Also, the club is actively seeking mentors who have a passion for GAA to help out with the club and its many events. If you would like to get in touch, send an email to nadubhghallgaa@gmail.com.
On May 15, the club is collaborating with Fingal County Council to bring the MayFest to Baldoyle. This is a free fun event for all the family, kicking off at 1pm in the Racecourse Park. For more information on this fantastic event visit the club’s website.
Summer is just around the corner and Na Dubh Ghall are in the process of organising its very popular Summer Camp.
Last year they had a fantastic turnout and had Bernard Brogan visit as a surprise guest to tell the children about what it’s like to be a Dublin player. If you would like to put your child’s name down for one of the very limited spaces please get in contact.
