Brilliant season for Baldoyle United
Dublin People 22 Apr 2016
BALDOYLE United Football Club is celebrating a magnificent season on and off the pitch after being chosen as both Community Group of the Year by Fingal County Council, and Community Football Club of the Year by the FAI/Aviva Insurance.
Chairman Dermot Penrose said the awards are a fantastic achievement for the club and recognition of how the club has developed over the last few years.
“There has been an amazing growth in the number of players wanting to join,” said Mr Penrose. “We now have well over 450 members and 25 teams.”
The club provides football for children of all ages from four to 18, with men’s teams in the AUL and an Over 35s team in the Amateur League. It also recently set up a Girls’ section which is thriving under Girls’ coach Justin Reilly.
The club’s Academy, for children age 4-7, runs every Saturday morning from 10am to 11am. Drop in to the club’s Brookstone Road astro pitch. The club will also be running its annual Summer Leagues, Summer Camp and other activities this summer. New players and coaches are always welcome.
