ON Sunday May 15, Baldoyle will have its biggest ever May Festival which will appeal to people of all ages.

Baldoyle Mayfest is being organised by a group of community organisations initiated by the Abbey Park & District Residents’ Association who are working with Na Dubh Ghall GAA and Baldoyle Forum Ltd.

Together they have been successful in getting Fingal County Council to finance the first ever May Festival for Baldoyle. The festival will take place from 1pm to 6.15pm at the new Baldoyle Racecourse Park (coastal side). “This is shaping up to be a fantastic festival,” said Noeleen Lynch, a member of the Abbey Park & District Residents’ Association.

“We’re delighted that Fingal County Council have agreed to fund this. It’s going to be a great community event with lots of our own Baldoyle groups performing on the stage. Baldoyle has a very strong community, but it’s because we have a number of community organisations working together here that we’re able to run this event.”

The festival will have Rock Bands, a Zip-Wire (new into the country), Bouncy Castles, Food, Exhibits, Dancing, Crazy Golf and lots more. There will also be a Tug-of-War competition where local teams can test their strength – contact Nicky Email: c1nicky@gmail.com or text to 085-8250698 to register a team (six persons and Over 15s). The event itself and all attractions are FREE OF CHARGE.
