Tree planting represents signatories
Dublin People 18 Mar 2016
AS part of National Tree Week (March 6-13) and the Fingal 2016 Centenary Programme, Fingal County Council planted seven trees to represent the seven signatories to the Proclamation, at Malahide Castle.

The Tidy Towns Unit at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government developed the project in conjunction with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, the Tree Council of Ireland, and Fingal County Council as part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme.
The award of seven oak trees to each of the Tidy Towns winners since 1958 is in recognition of the efforts of local people to make their own community a better place to live in.
Malahide achieved the overall Tidy Towns award in 1990.
