Educate Together school appoints new principal

Kathy Jones, the first Principal of Bremore Educate Together Secondary School in Balbriggan.

A NEW Northside secondary school, due to open this year, has announced the appointment of its first principal.

Kathy Jones has been appointed Principal of Bremore Educate Together Secondary School (ETSS) in Balbriggan. 

The school will be based in prefabs located beside St George’s National School, currently occupied by Coláiste Ghlór Na Mara. 

A permanent site has been acquired by the Department of Education and Skills on the Naul Road.

Ms Jones, a former assistant principal at Colaiste Dhulaigh, said she was delighted with her appointment. 

“I look forward to a successful exciting new future for all of our students,” she said. 

“The opening of this Educate Together second level s-chool in Balbriggan is a result of many years of campaign work by parents and members of the local community and I am honoured to be the first Principal of the school. 

“I am looking forward to working with the school community to encourage all of our students to achieve their full potential.”

School manager Gerry McKevitt said: “I am thrilled to welcome Kathy to the new Bremore ETSS school community. 

“With Kathy at the helm, I am confident that Bremore ETSS will be a huge asset to the students and families of Balbriggan.’’
