DART service every 10 minutes on weekdays from early 2016

PLANS for a major expansion of the DART service in 2016 will be announced tomorrow by the Minister for Transport, Sport and Tourism, Paschal Donohoe.

Draft schedules will be made available for all Connolly routes (DART, Northern Commuter, Maynooth/M3 Commuter, Sligo/Dublin, Rosslare/Dublin and Belfast/Dublin) online at www.irishrail.ie for rail customers to review and give feedback as part of the public consultation phase of timetable planning.

The draft schedules have been developed with the National Transport Authority and final changes arising from public consultation and implementation are subject to its approval.

The draft schedules will give details of a proposed expansion in DART services from every 15 minutes on weekdays to every 10 minutes from early in 2016, as well as other service enhancements for Connolly routes.

Passenger growth across the Iarnród Éireann network is running at five per cent so far in 2015, with DART growth at eight per cent.
