AN award-winning Northside group is set to embark on another theatre production this month.

Eclipse Stage School, based at Scoil Eoin Primary School in Kilbarrack, will stage ‘On Our Way’ at the O’Reilly Theatre in Belvedere College for one night only on Thursday, October 29.
‘On Our Way’ will take the audience through some of the best hits of the last year, much loved musicals and dance styles from around the world, along with guaranteed hits from Disney smash hit ‘Frozen’ and global superstar Beyonce.
Eclipse currently holds the title of Best Stage School in Ireland, and it has become a leading school for young performers since it was established in 2007.
Director and choreographer Kenneth Giles (25) focuses on all aspects of performance and training.
This not only help the students during their time at the school but also teaches them the skills needed for the professional performance industry.
Kenneth also works hard to get the students valuable opportunities to perform and in the industry.
This year has been no different with members becoming resident performers for the 10-day Christmas Toy Show in the RDS; guests at the Big Viking Picnic Festival in aid of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie; and they will also perform as guests at the National ShowChoir Championships of Ireland on October 30.
The local school has also been nominated for two awards later this year for Creative Group of the Year and Best Dance Act at the Irish Artists Awards 2015.
Since 2007 Eclipse have performed at Croke Park, the Irish tour of Glee, TV shows and music videos and owner, Kenneth, is just back from being a judge on Canadian talent show ‘ShowChoir’.
“I think it’s important that every student who passes through the doors is given the same chances and opportunities to perform at events and on stage,” says Kenneth.
“I make sure to nurture everyone’s talent and not to just focus on certain people.
“I know how tough this business can be and if I can help one person with the right skills they need to be successful as a dancer, singer, performer then I will have done my job.
“We focus every student on performance. There is no competition, just work for the students to better themselves and have fun which is the most important thing in classes for children.”
