Councillor welcomes housing project progress

A NORTHSIDE councillor has welcomed the progress that has been made on a major housing project in his area.

In 2014 a total of €7.9 million in funding was announced for 35 new houses to be built at Lower Buttercup Estate in Darndale, and work began this year. Cllr Larry O’Toole (SF), who visited the site recently, said: “After years of campaigning by local residents the much needed work is now coming to fruition. 

“Not alone will the new houses provide much needed homes for people on the waiting list but they will also give the area a whole new look.

“Hopefully residents can start moving into the new units next year.”
