Peugeot Food Truck is unveiled

THE Peugeot Design Lab, headed by Irishman Cathal Loughnane, has recently premiered its newest creation, the Peugeot Food Truck.

Dubbed

‘Le Bistrot du Lion’, the new restaurant on wheels aims to deliver high-quality food on the go.

Since the company was founded over 200 years ago, Peugeot has designed and manufactured thousands of domestic objects and vehicles. The Peugeot Food Truck is an heir to these traditions.

A mobile object, it is an automobile which, once parked, becomes a food truck unlike any other.

Featuring short front and rear overhangs to ensure manoeuvrability, its long wheelbase offers considerable load volume.

Once on site, it spreads its wings to double its width, offering a versatile space that can easily be adapted to any environment. Accommodating 30 persons comfortably, with separate areas for food preparation, eating and refreshments, a DJ booth also showcases the new digital music platform launched by the Peugeot brand.

True foodies can enjoy interactive access to the chef’s every move with the aid of a 46-inch screen and speakers, strategically placed in order to retransmit even the faintest mouth-watering sizzle. It has been designed to recuperate and recycle all waste.

On board, chefs benefit from two grilling plates and four induction burners as well as a deep fryer. The ventilation system ensures optimum air quality and a 400-litre refrigerated under-foot compartment allows food to stay fresh. A 350-litre refrigerator keeps drinks cold, while a coffee machine provides patrons with a delicious hot beverage.
