Citroën launches Berlingo Airdream
Dublin People 17 Aug 2012CITROÃ?N Motors Ireland has announced the Irish launch of the new Berlingo Airdream van, which uses Citroën’s unique e-HDi Airdream micro-hybrid drivetrain.
This advanced drivetrain delivers exceptional combined cycle fuel efficiency of up to 4.7 L/100km and CO2 emissions as low as 123g/km.
This engine is equipped with Stop & Start technology, which uses an advanced micro-hybrid starter/generator to restart the engine quickly and smoothly. The system also benefits from regenerative braking to recover and store energy that would otherwise be lost when slowing down.
In addition, the Berlingo Airdream drivetrain incorporates Citroën’s EGS6 automated manual gearbox, which further improves fuel efficiency and also provides the benefits of two pedal driving, with a choice of automatic or manual (by steering column mounted paddles) shift modes.
The newly launched Berlingo Airdream van benefits from the restyling that was introduced on the award-winning Berlingo van range earlier this year. This includes a wider grille, new chevron badge and a new headlight layout. The lower part of the grille, with its wider air intake, can be fitted with optional static cornering lights integrated with the fog lights.
The latest Berlingo models also have more aerodynamic door mirrors to help reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions. The rear has revised badging and all Berlingo vans, except X models, gain new
‘Feroe’ wheel trims and new
‘Gazyban’ trim in the cab.
Sean O’Neill, Citroën Motors Ireland Ltd’s Fleet Manager, added:
“The new Berlingo Airdream van and the latest changes made to the facelifted Berlingo range will further boost the popularity of this, our best-selling LCV.
