Merc remembers first Aer Lingus flight

Lingus livery to celebrate the first flight of the Iolar, Aer Lingus’ first
passenger plane, will soon become a familiar sight on roads around Ireland, UK
and Europe.
Supplied by Mutec Mercedes-Benz, converted by
Paramount of Tullamore and with a passenger capacity equal to the Iolar, the
unit was purchased by Aer Lingus as part of celebrations to mark their 75th
anniversary.
It will be used to transport officials to air shows
around Ireland, the UK and Europe at which the Iolar – which took its first
flight in 1936 from Dublin to Bristol – will be a main attraction.
