Padraig Conlon 11 May 2023

A team of six recruiters from two rural New South Wales health districts are hosting an information session and interviews in Dublin from 15th to 17th May in a new recruitment drive for Irish nurses and midwives.

Murrumbidgee and Southern New South Wales are linking up with Galway-based recruitment agency ICE Group to run a series of live information sessions and interviews across Ireland for two weeks, starting on May 15th.

Nurses and midwives interested in these positions should call ICE Group on 091-475-100 for further information.

In addition to high Australian wages, the Local Health Districts are offering nurses and midwives from Dublin very generous relocation incentive packages, in certain cases up to AU$32,000.

Sizeable incentives for nurses travelling on Working Holiday Visas are also available.

Full details on the relocation incentives are available on www.icejobs.ie/healthcare-recruitment

In addition to the very generous relocation incentives there are many other benefits including:

  1. Lower cost of living in rural areas
  2. Excellent pay and working conditions
  3. Flexible work arrangements and excellent work life balance

Commenting on the recruitment drive, Margaret Cox, Director of ICE Group, said; “There are excellent career opportunities for Irish nurses in New South Wales. Australia’s state-funded healthcare service is very similar to the HSE which makes it easy for Irish nurses to adapt quickly.

“There’s also a big community of Irish nurses in New South Wales so getting used to the new lifestyle takes very little adjustment.

“New South Wales hospitals have generous staffing levels and nurses there enjoy some of the best pay and employment conditions in Australia.

“The package also includes visa sponsorship for one to four years or longer.”

Nursing professionals looking for a fulfilling career that offers unique challenges and opportunities, may want to consider working in rural New South Wales, where experienced nurses and midwives are in high demand.

The Murrumbidgee and Southern NSW Local Health Districts cover a vast area of rural NSW, including towns like Wagga Wagga, Albury, Griffith, and Tumut.

By working in these areas, nurses have the chance to work with diverse populations with a range of health needs.
