Padraig Conlon 08 Apr 2025
St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) is excited to invite the public, patients, staff and the community to its eighth annual Health Fair.

This year’s event, which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9, will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the 1st Floor Atrium at SVUH.
The fair will feature 28 manned information stalls, providing a fantastic opportunity to interact with health professionals, learn about a variety of health and wellbeing services and get expert advice on a wide range of health topics.
The theme of this year’s Health Fair is “Healthy at All Life Stages”, in alignment with the Healthy Ireland framework, which promotes physical and mental health and wellbeing for people of all ages.
This year’s event will provide a platform for attendees to explore how they can live healthier lives at any stage, with support from both internal hospital departments and external health and wellbeing organisations.
Participating stands include the Irish Kidney Foundation, Daffodil Centre, Asthma Society, Irish Skin Foundation, Irish Heart Foundation, Alcohol Action Ireland, and the Citizens Information Centre & MABS, to name just a few.
In addition, SVUH’s internal departments, such as Occupational Health, Catering & Dietetics and Bone Health, will also be represented, offering valuable insights and resources throughout the day.
Dr Ailsa Lyons, Head of Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion at SVUH, explains, “It’s really wonderful to have the Health Fair back for another year.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with experts in an informal setting and learn more about how we can make healthier choices, prevent illness and enhance our wellbeing throughout life.
“Whether you’re interested in managing chronic conditions or discovering new wellness strategies, there is something for everyone.”
Last year, the Health Fair was attended by hundreds of people, with 99.5% of attendees expressing enjoyment of the event.
Furthermore, 98% of participants rated the event as excellent or good. Attendees appreciated the variety of stalls, the expert advice available, and the accessibility of the health professionals present.
One attendee shared, “The variety of stands was excellent and all of the people were approachable, knowledgeable and really helpful.”
The Health Fair will feature informative visual displays, interactive exhibits and live demonstrations on topics ranging from mental health and chronic pain management to healthy eating and dementia care. A raffle will also be held for all attendees who complete and return an evaluation form.
This non-commercial event is free to attend and open to everyone.
