Peter Pan production is a family affair

A BROTHER and sister duo from the Northside are set to take to the stage in a much anticipated version of Peter Pan in the Helix Theatre.

Hana (8) and her older brother Sam Donaldson, from Swords, are preparing to dazzle audiences at the Helix this week.

Despite her age, Hana is no stranger to treading the boards in musicals having already appeared in live stage productions of The Wizard of Oz as a fairy and Annie Jr! as little orphan Molly for the last two years running.

Hana is now taking to the stage for the third time in her biggest yet smallest role to date with brother Sam.

She will be playing Tinkerbell in the live stage version of Peter Pan in the Helix alongside Sam who is playing the role of John Darling.

Both Hana and Sam have each attended the musical theatre summer camp in the Helix run in association with Sean Gilligan Productions for the last three years.

It was at

‘Oz Camp’ in the summer of 2011 when Hana first caught the eye of young producer and musical director Sean Gilligan.

Hana returned in 2012 to

“Annie Camp

? where she landed the role of Molly.

“Hana is an absolute dream to work with and a superbly talented young lady,

? Sean said.

“She is most definitely one to watch for the future. In fact, both she and Sam are extremely talented individuals with bright futures ahead.

Sean Gilligan Productions runs a musical theatre summer camp every year in the Helix, which sees all the children who attend for two weeks or more getting involved in a full scale staged musical.

The camp was the first of its kind to follow this format in Ireland and proved a major success at introducing new children to the world of theatre.

In fact, many of the children who attend camp go on to join Sean’s schools in Artane, Clontarf and Rush.

Peter Pan runs in The Helix under producer/director/musical director and choreographer Sean Gilligan of Sean Gilligan Productions with nightly shows from August 7 – 10.

There is also a matinee performance for younger children on the August 10.
